Emilio Aguinaldo College – Manila underwent the Initial Audit by the Auditors from Worldwide Quality Assurance (WQA) Philippines for ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System. The implementation of the roadmap to ISO was directed by the school Vice-President for Academic Affairs and Quality Management Representative Dr. Ellen S.N. Salac. In July, EAC was notified by WQA that the school was approved for certification. Administrators and staff were jubilant especially because the journey took almost a full year including many weekends and late evenings.
On May 14, 2018, after fulfilling their civic responsibilities and voting in the elections for barangay officials, the school community from top management to the entry level staff under able leadership of its Vice-President for Academic Affairs and Quality Management Representative Dr. Ellen S.N. Salac reported for the ISO 9001:2008 re-certification and the ISO 9001:2015 initial certification. The sustained commitment of EAC to a culture of continuous improvement came through and the five member WQA audit team findings were only in the area of Opportunities for Improvement. Mr Aristian Putra, the chairman of the audit team, was able to announce that he would be recommending Emilio Aguinaldo College, Manila for certification as ISO 9001:2015 compliant.
The ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS) is the most widely adopted of the international standards. It is being used by many organizations to demonstrate its ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and regulatory requirements and the organizational culture of continual improvement. The ISO certification required the complete, comprehensive, efficient and effective review of the organization’s processes and the corresponding documentation with the goal of providing total quality education to the students and other stakeholders. This achievement was attained through the collaboration of all units of the Emilio Aguinaldo College. This ISO certification further reinforces its delivery of a total quality education comparable with international standards. It validates that EAC has been faithful to its vision and mission for its 45 years of existence.
